There were only 2% of the homes that were devastated by Helene in North Carolina, Georgia, and South Carolina that had a policy protecting them against terrible flooding.
The storm crushed through at least six states killing at least 200 people. Many people in mountainous areas of North Carolina never saw it coming and couldn’t prepare for it.
Most homeowners there really don’t need flood insurance. Because of their distance from the coast and they can’t afford it.
