Back-to-Back Vehicle Pursuits In Ellisville Community

Investigators spotted a driver with active warrants and attempted a traffic stop. The driver refused to pull over, leading to a pursuit. During the chase, the occupants were seen discarding items from the vehicle. The vehicle eventually stopped, and the occupants were taken into custody.

The driver, Aaron Jabe Whorton, 47, of Centre, was arrested on charges of Attempting to Elude, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Littering. The passenger, Kendra Capri Crane, 31, of Cedar Bluff, was arrested on similar charges, including Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Littering. Both had active warrants with the Sheriff’s Office. Deputies recovered the discarded items, identified as illegal narcotics, along the roadside.

While investigators and deputies were still on scene, another vehicle sped past them. Deputies attempted to stop this vehicle, but the driver also refused, prompting a second pursuit. The vehicle eventually stopped, and Phillip Blake Slayton, 33, of Piedmont, was arrested for Attempting to Elude and Possession of Brass Knuckles. He was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
