A two-vehicle crash on Shorter Avenue in Rome, Georgia, close to Zaxby’s Restaurant and Lowe’s Home Improvement Store temporarily shut down all lanes of traffic Wednesday afternoon.  The wreck resulted in a power pole being struck and broken – with a line falling across the roadway.  Floyd 9-1-1 dispatch reports that two people were injured in the accident – and transported from the scene by Atrium Health Floyd EMS.

Traffic was detoured until the vehicles were cleared from the roadway – and Georgia Power responded to the area.

That wreck remains under investigation.
