Todd Kirkland was named the new City of Piedmont Fire Chief on Sept. 9. Kirkland previously served as Training Officer for the Anniston Fire Department for four years before being hired as Piedmont’s Fire Chief. He is 45 years old.
Chief Kirkland told WEIS Radio that he really feels the Piedmont Fire Department is moving in a positive direction.
He said he inherited a solid group of good people and really likes all aspects of helping people, which is his main concern.
Chief Kirkland is a 1997 Ohatchee High School graduate and grew up as a volunteer fireman for 24 years.
He is married to his wife Carolyn and has a son, Noah, who is 11 years old.
Chief Kirkland brings a wealth of knowledge to Piedmont.
