Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Obtains “Mobile Command Center” Vehicle

NEW MOBILE COMMAND CENTER

The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, has recently added another vehicle to the fleet.

This is a large truck to be utilized as a Mobile Command Center and Chief    Deputy Josh Summerford tells WEIS Radio News, the vehicle will provide great assistance during Natural Disasters OR in the event of a “stand-off”, where additional resources are needed – and – it’ll ALSO provide a work area that is out of the weather.

The truck was purchased with funds provided by Senator Katie Britt and some local funds.  It was obtained from the Port Authority in New York.   The vehicle is a 10 year old unit but has less than 5,000 miles on it.
