A federal program that provides FREE COVID tests has restarted.
Any household can currently order up to FOUR at-home COVID test kits –through covidtests.gov. The rapid antigen tests use nasal swabs to detect a presence of the virus. Available tests include one that’s designed to be more ACCESSIBLE for all those with disabilities affecting dexterity – OR who may be blind OR have low vision. Shipping of the FREE tests started recently – just ahead of the traditional flu and COVID seasons.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration – SOME of these tests will show expiration dates that’ve passed; many of those dates have been extended, however.
You can see a list of those extensions here.
Since that FREE COVID test program started in winter of 2021 – over 900 million free tests have been distributed.
To order the free tests, go to COVIDtests.gov.
Also to order tests for those more accessible for people with disabilities, visit ACL.gov/AccessibleTests.gov.
