Collinsville’s Rogers continues offensive assault in shutout of Sand Rock

COLLINSVILLE – Collinsville junior running back Quintavious Rogers continued his recent scoring assault on defenses. For the third straight game, he accounted for five total touchdowns in a 51-0 rout of Sand Rock on Friday night.

Rogers accumulated 179 yards on 10 carries with four touchdowns. He also caught a pair of passes for 54 yards and a score.

Rogers got the Class 3A Panthers (4-1) going with his 2-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. He then caught a 23-yard pass from quarterback Mason McAteer for his second score, and closed out the first quarter with a 15-yard touchdown run to put the Panthers out in front 20-0.

Following Logan Hanson’s 8-yard touchdown run to open the second-quarter scoring, Rogers scampered 82 yards for his fourth touchdown of the night, giving Collinsville a 34-0 edge at halftime.

Jan Segura connected on a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter to increase the Panther lead to 37-0, then Rogers capped his night with a 49-yard run into the end zone.

Rajuess Rooks accounted for the game’s final touchdown with a 3-yard run early in the fourth quarter.

McAteer completed 10 of 20 pass attempts for 188 yards and a touchdown. Kyler Beene finished with five catches for 113 yards.

Sylas Adams and Jeremiah Killian both recovered fumbles for the Panther defense. Gavin Lang had an interception.

Collinsville plays at Geraldine on Friday. Class 2A Sand Rock (3-3) returns home to take on top-ranked Pisgah.
