Closings & Delays Thursday & Friday Due to Helene

Due to the threat of inclement weather associated with Hurricane Helene, there will be several closings or delays across the WEIS coverage area on Thursday, Sept. 26, and/or Friday, Sept. 27.

 

Alabama schools:

Cherokee County Schools: no after school activities Thursday; closed Friday, Friday evening and weekend activities expected to be held as scheduled.

Anniston City Schools: E-Learning Friday

Calhoun County Schools: 2-hour delay Friday.

The Donoho School: 2-hour delay Friday.

Faith Christian School: E-Learning Friday.

Gadsden State Community College: no evening classes Thursday; all campuses closed Friday.

Jacksonville Christian Academy: 2-hour delay Friday.

Jacksonville City Schools: closed Friday.

Oxford City Schools: E-Learning Friday.

Piedmont City Schools: 2-hour delay Friday.

 

Georgia schools:

Chattooga County Schools: closed Thursday & Friday.

Floyd County Schools: closed Thursday & Friday; no after school activities Friday.

Georgia Highlands College: closed Thursday & Friday.

Georgia Northwestern Technical College: closing Thursday at 3 p.m.; closed Friday.

Polk County Schools: Learn-from-Home Thursday & Friday.

Rome City Schools: Independent Learning Thursday & Friday.

Shorter University: closed Thursday & Friday.

Trion City Schools: no extracurricular activities Thursday; closed Friday.

Unity Christian School: closed Thursday & Friday.

 

Other closings:

Cedar Bluff Town Hall: open at 10 a.m.

Centre City Hall & City Offices: 2-hour delay.

Cherokee County Offices & Courthouse: 2-hour delay Friday; open to the public at 10 a.m.

Fort Payne Rural Transportation: closed Friday.

Little River Canyon National Preserve: park closed Friday.
