During the Tuesday afternoon City of Centre Council Meeting, Mayor Mark Mansfield addressed the Council to review the budget for fiscal year 2024-2025. This was reviewed by the Council at length and unanimously adopted.
Next on the agenda, Mansfield called upon Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship to address the Council about the need for a mobile radar trailer. The one they were using he said was destroyed by a vehicle on the By-Pass. This was already in the budget for $8474. This was approved by Council.
Mayor Mansfield then called upon Jay Wilson, Director of Parks and Recreation. Wilson informed the Council just what a water link pool system is. He told them it is an automated test for the pool at the aquatic center to get a tighter control of the chemicals for the pool at a cost of $1,524.04. This was approved by the Council.
The Council also approved purchasing Christmas wreath light bulbs for $ 1,259.50.
The Council spoke at length about the fall clean-up week which is October 21st through October 25th. The trash will be picked up on the normal day. No freon, paint cans, and batteries are allowed to be discarded with their trash. Citizens can pick up trash bags at Centre City Hall.
In Mayor’s Comments, Mansfield thanked everyone involved with putting the budget together for the upcoming year.
The next City of Centre Council meeting will be October 8th.
