The Georgia State Patrol says that an accident on Oak Hill Road, just west of River Road in Lyerly, last Thursday was caused by excessive speed.
According to a report released Monday (September 16th) the driver, was identified as 28-year-old – Mariom Elizabeth Lea – and she was traveling east on Oak Hill Road and failed to negotiate a curve. The 2019 Nissan Kicks that she was driving – left the roadway and struck an embankment and then overturned.
A witness with Chattooga County Public Works told troopers that the car was driving too fast for conditions at the time of the accident.
The driver was transported by Atrium Health Floyd EMS, with what were reported as unspecified injuries.
