ANNISTON – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors swept a volleyball tri-match at Donoho on Thursday. Cherokee County defeated Saks 25-8, 25-10, then went on to beat Donoho 25-23, 25-18 to improve to 17-5 on the season.
In the win over Saks, Ava Haygood delivered eight kills, two digs and a block. Nevaeh Gaidurgis added seven kills, an ace and a dig. Ellisan Givens posted four digs, three aces and an assist. Lilly Shaw, Libby Curry and Shamiya McElrath each had three kills.
Jolie Alexander collected two aces, a kill, a dig and a block. Jesslyn Hincy came away with two digs, two assists and an ace. Reagan Garmany gained a kill and a dig. Macy Lea finished with 20 assists and a pair of kills.
In the win over Donoho, Gaidurgis accumulated nine kills, two blocks, two digs and an assist. Lea contributed 19 assists, eight digs, two kills and a block. Givens earned 10 digs and three aces. Haygood had seven digs and three kills.
Garmany came away with two kills, a block and an assist. Alexander added two kills, a block and an ace. Shaw also had two kills. Curry managed a kill and Hincy finished with four digs.
Cherokee County plays in a tournament at Fort Payne on Saturday.
