At approximately 1:20 pm Wednesday, a fire was reported in a storage area, located directly behind the Pic ‘N Sav grocery store building in Centre.
The fire was quickly taken care of by the Centre, Leesburg, Spring Creek, and Ellisville Fire Departments; Pic ‘N Sav reopened for business a short time later.
While originally thought to be an electrical fire, officials later stated that a cigarette is the likely source.
Centre Police, Atrium Health Floyd EMS and DC Gas were also on hand as responders.
