Neighbor Responds with Helping Hand During Fire in Northwest Georgia

Firefighters responded to the recent residential structure fire in the area of Chestnut Street in Trion; Trion Police, Summerville Fire, Hays Fire and Artium Health Floyd EMS all arrived in just moments.  The homeowner was trying to extinguish that fire but the smoke became too much, so she had to exit out the front door.

Once outside she yelled for a neighbor who was in his yard – and without hesitation, the neighbor, William Campbell – quickly grabbed the table in the living room and removed it from the home.   Then, grabbing a water hose, he began putting water on the fire.

By the arrival of emergency personnel, smoke had filled the entire home.  Firefighters quickly extinguished all the hot spots, and set up ventilation to clear the residence.   The Trion Fire Department credited and thanked the neighbor  for his heroic efforts.

That fire currently remains under investigation
