One person – an 18 year old – was fatally injured, and three others hurt – in a single-vehicle accident on Thursday morning, in neighboring DeKalb County.
According to Alabama State Trooper reports, the crash took place at 2:40 that morning on Alabama Highway 68, and it involved a 2008 Mitsubishi Gallant driven by a female – 19 year old Maria Gonzalez-Rodriguez – and a passenger – Maria Hernandez-Rodriguez, age 58 – who was also hurt.
They were taken to T.C. Thompson Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee – and, a one-year old child was rushed to an area hospital for treatment as well.
The accident occurred in DeKalb County – approximately two miles West of Collinsville – and it currently remains under investigation.
