Cherokee County sweeps volleyball tri-match with Spring Garden, Pleasant Valley

SPRING GARDEN — The Cherokee County Lady Warriors swept a volleyball tri-match at Spring Garden on Thursday. The Lady Warriors defeated Spring Garden 25-21, 25-21, then beat Pleasant Valley 25-8, 27-25 to improve to 14-5 on the season.

In the win over Spring Garden, Macy Lea collected 14 assists and a dig. Lilly Shaw posted two blocks and a kill. Ava Haygood accumulated nine kills, three digs and two aces. Jolie Alexander added six kills and a dig. Nevaeh Gaidurgis came away with nine kills, six digs and a block. Ellisan Givens had six digs and an assist. Jesslyn Hincy finished with 11 assists, three aces and three digs.

In the win over Pleasant Valley, Lea contributed 22 assists, three digs and two aces. Raegan Garmany earned four kills. Haygood collected eight kills, five digs and an ace. Alexander delivered three kills. Givens gained eight digs, six aces and an assist. Gaidurgis posted nine kills and three digs. Hincy finished with seven digs and an assist.

Cherokee County travels to Hokes Bluff on Tuesday.
