On Wednesday afternoon, a fatal accident took place – at the intersection of Harvey Street and Calhoun Avenue, on North Broad Street in Rome.

Georgia law enforcement officials say the accident involved a motorcycle and a City of Rome Solid Waste vehicle.  Traffic on North Broad, and on Copeland Street, was blocked off by Rome Police – detouring both inbound and outbound traffic around the area.

Accident details are still under investigation.
