Chattooga County, Georgia Sheriff Mark Schrader, states that a man from Blue Ridge died after crashing his ATV at an area hunting club.

The sheriff issued the following press release on Tuesday afternoon:  “On September 2nd around 1:00am – Deputies and emergency personnel were dispatched to Haywood Valley Road and ‘Silver Creek Hunting Club’ headquarters – regarding a missing male.

A short time later, Alton Jerry Jordan, age 82 of Blue Ridge, Georgia – was located in a wooded area on a steep hill.  The Preliminary Investigation – suggests that Jordan was trying to turn in order to navigate down a steep hill when his ATV rolled over multiple times landing on top of him.”

According to Sheriff Schrader – Jordan succumbed to his injuries prior to being located.
