An east Alabama man has been fatally injured in a single-vehicle crash in Calhoun County.
Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as John L. Pruitt; he was 55 years of age and lived in Ohatchee.
The wreck happened at 6:25pm Wednesday on Alabama 144 – about two miles east of Ohatchee. Pruitt was driving a Lincoln Town Car, which left the roadway, struck a ditch, overturned and hit a tree. Officials said Pruitt was not using a seat belt at the time of that crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.
State Troopers are investigating the incident.
