Calhoun County Commuters to Expect Lane Closures and Delays Next Several Months

Reggie Kyle

Commuters in Calhoun County need to be aware of an ongoing road project on Alabama State Route 21. This project will span from Milepost 258 to Milepost 265 in Calhoun County.

Starting immediately, ALDOT will implement lane closures on SR-21 Northbound and/or Southbound. These closures will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily for the necessary safety improvements, access management, and resurfacing activities.

“It’s a pretty detailed and large project in its scope that will be working on several medians in the Len Lock area near the Aldi’s in Anniston. Right now the focus of the work is right past the Aldi’s in Anniston on McClellan Blvd as it goes on to State Road 21,” said Jackson Hodges with the City of Anniston.

Jackson Hodges says this road project will go all the way to Jacksonville with a completion date set for November 2025.
