Recall Issued by Perdue Foods

Perry, Georgia based company, the well-known Perdue Foods is recalling 167,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat chicken tenders – and also breast nugget products.

The company is recalling thousands of products – due to possible foreign material contamination specifically metal, according to the report issued by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.  The USDA was made aware of that issue after getting consumer complaints – about metal wire embedded in the product, which was sold both directly online to consumers, as well as inside of retail locations nationwide.

All of the affected products were produced on March 23rd – and bear the establishment number “P-33944” on the back of the package.

Below is a list of affected products:

  • 22-oz. (1.38-lbs.) vacuum-sealed plastic packages containing “PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS Breaded CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS” with Best If Used By date of “03 23 25” represented on the back of the package.
