Man Facing Multiple Charges After DUI/Driving Under the Influence Arrest

Recently – a Chattooga County, Georgia Deputy, pulled a vehicle over in a lot at the intersection of Rossville Boulevard, for allegedly driving on the wrong side of the roadway.   As the deputy was listening to the driver explain that he had just finished cutting a client’s hair and that he was heading back home (according to the report) when he noticed that the man’s eyes were bloodshot and that he was acting as if he was tired.

The driver, ID’d as 61-year-old Jeffrey Don Hughes, failed a field sobriety test and was placed under arrest.   When asked about an alcohol blood test, Hughes reportedly said – “there shouldn’t be any reason you need my blood”.

An open container of alcohol was found inside of the vehicle, and Hughes was booked into the Chattooga County Jail, and was charged with DUI for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving on the Wrong Side of the Roadway, Failure to Signal and having an Open Container of Alcohol.
