South Korean Company to Build $2.2B Solar Manufacturing Complex in Cartersville, Georgia

The United States government has issued a $1.45 billion loan to Solar panel manufacturer Qcells, a South Korean company, to build a 2.2 billion dollar solar manufacturing complex in Cartersville, Georgia. This facility will produce wafers, ingots, and solar cells in Washington state, this a huge step at getting much stronger with the United States solar supply. Once this project is finished the plant will power 1.3 million homes annually. The manufacturer has already signed an eight-year,12-GW solar and EPC agreement with Microsoft for panels to be made at the Cartersville plant.
