The Northeast Alabama Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will host its annual banquet on Saturday, July 27th, at Chattokee Lodge, 1877 AL Highway 35 in Gaylesville, to raise money for projects that conserve wildlife and preserve Alabama’s hunting heritage.
“This is the chapter’s thirtieth year hosting our banquet, and every year is better than the one before,” said Harlan Starr. “It’s the best opportunity in town to meet other people who care about conservation while enjoying good food, music, and fun.”
Dinner starts at 6:30 PM, but arrive at 5:30 PM to enjoy a social hour and music before the banquet begins. Families can play games and enter raffles to win up to 14 guns, including Henry, Benelli, Remington, Springfield, Stevens, Franchi, and Browning. There will also be silent and live auctions for exclusive framed art, guns, collectibles, sculptures, home furnishings, and more. Local vendors have supplied some very unique and one-of-a-kind items for this year’s event.
Corporate sponsor tables that seat eight people cost $1200, including a corporate sponsor gift. NWTF Sponsor Tickets are $300, which includes two meals and one membership. Couple tickets are $80, and single tickets are $60. The ticket price for children under the age of 16 is $20. All ticket prices include admission, dinner, and a one-year NWTF membership.

Local and state NWTF chapters host thousands of similar events nationwide each year to raise funds that help conserve wildlife and habitat and introduce new people to the outdoors. Many families enjoy hunting together and pass traditions on from one generation to another.
Hunting is also important for the health of our nation’s wildlife and habitat because hunters fund conservation. Locally, our chapter hosts a hunter safety course free of charge and a gun safety class for a minimum charge and helps take those with disabilities out on hunting trips.
