‘End of Watch Ride to Remember’ Honors Local Fallen Officers

An end of watch ride was held Saturday (July 20th) with stops at both the Cedar Bluff Police Department as well as the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Centre.

The non-profit organization Beyond the Call of Duty presented their ‘End of Watch Ride to Remember’ to honor the memories of Cedar Bluff Police Sergeant Chris Vaughn and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department Corporal Keith Morgan, who both passed away in 2022.

Sergeant Vaughn suffered a fatal medical condition after assisting in a vehicle pursuit that resulted in a vehicle crash.

Corporal Morgan died as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty.
