Gadsden Fire Department’s Newest Fire Truck

Yesterday, the City of Gadsden held a dedication ceremony for the
Gadsden Fire Department’s newest fire truck, which represents an
investment of more than $1 million by Mayor Craig Ford and the Gadsden
City Council.

This ladder truck is going into service at Station 4 in the Alabama
City community, and it replaces a 17-year-old truck that will be moved
into reserve.
During yesterday’s ceremony, firefighters, friends, family and
community members joined to form a bucket brigade to move a bucket of
water from the old fire truck to the new truck, symbolizing the transfer
of duty.
We’re proud of the men and women of the Gadsden Fire Department, and I
wanted to share some photos of yesterday’s ceremony and a few from
earlier, when the truck was delivered to the station.
