During the Tuesday afternoon City of Centre Council Meeting Mayor Mansfield brought forth Daphne Rogers from Extended Family. Rogers spoke at length about the wonderful things going on at Extended Family these days. She addressed the Council that Extended Family, is teaching a select group of students how to “Lead Yourself” through lessons in the areas of job readiness, health, and communication. She was accompanied to the Council meeting by Extended Family Executive Director Laure Clemons and her husband Jerry Clemons.

The Council adopted a resolution in memory of former Council Member Gary Hopper.

Next on the agenda, The Council approved a $2,000 donation to the CCHS Band and they also approved $751.00 for the Recreation Department to purchase field signs for State Champions and State Runner-Up All Star Teams. They will be placed on the top of the back stops to honor these special teams.

The Council Members all thanked the City Employees for their hard work, loyalty and dedication for the City of Centre.

In closing, Mayor Mansfield reminded all the Department Heads the budget meetings are in a few weeks so start getting prepared.

The next City of Centre Council Meeting will be Tuesday August 6th.
