A Gadsden man, 44-year-old Paul Victor Yother has been arrested on sexual abuse charges in connection with an investigation that began in  the State of Florida, reports Sheriff Jonathon Horton.

Authorities say sexual abuse was first reported in Walton County, Florida this led to an investigation of possible potential victims in Etowah County.

The investigation led the sheriff’s office to a male suspect, 44-year-old Paul Victor Yother, of Gadsden. Sheriff Horton says Yother has been charged with four counts of sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

More charges could  be  possible, according to Sheriff Horton.

Yother is in custody right now at the Etowah County Detention Center on $1.2 million cash bond.

Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Etowah County District Attorney’s Office, Walton County Sheriff’s Office, FL, and Gadsden Police Department participated in the case.

This investigation will continue.
