Plans Underway For President Carter’s 100th Birthday
Plans are currently underway in Plains, Georgia, and Atlanta to celebrate President Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday.
The former peanut farmer and also the Governor of Georgia will have his centennial birthday on October 1st, 2024. Organizers in Carter’s hometown of Plains – and at the Carter Center and Presidential Library in Atlanta, say the day will be marked by a huge film festival. While serving as governor of Georgia – Carter laid groundwork for television and movie production in the peach state and it’s something that has since led to a multi-million dollar industry.
Plans are to show movies the Carters watched, as they were in the White House, in the late 1970’s.
President Carter is the oldest living President in American history.
