Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Northwest Georgia

Trooper Doug Shamblin with the Georgia State Patrol – said on Thursday evening – that a 62-year-old Trion man was struck and killed – after he’d stepped out into traffic, on Highway 27 in Trion – near Peach State Credit Union.  That reportedly occurred around 4:30pm. 

Trooper Shamblin stated that James Kay – had walked into the path of an oncoming southbound vehicle and was struck; he was then rushed to the nearby Chattooga Emergency Department, however he succumbed to his injuries.

The incident remains under investigation.
