Cartersville, Georgia Man Charged With Stealing Summerville Woman’s Pocketbook in Rome

A Cartersville, Georgia man, was recently charged in connection with the theft of a number of items taken from a Summerville woman last month, on May 17th, at Chili’s Restaurant on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome. 

Floyd County Police say that an arrest warrant was taken out on 41-year-old Geoffrey Scott Bennett, who stole a purse from that Chattooga County woman at the restaurant.    Bennett – who was an employee of Chili’s Restaurant – allegedly took the pocketbook to his home, where it was discovered, after police obtained a search warrant.   Contents inside included – Apple Airpods, valued at $100; several credit and debit cards; $106 in cash; makeup, valued at $95; also the victim’s ID cards.

Bennett was charged with felony Theft by Taking.
