Crossville Man Arrested for Shooting into Occupied Dwelling

From the Office of DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden:  Thursday on June 13th (of 2024) around 4:15pm deputies were dispatched to County Road 386 in DeKalb County for a report of someone “shooting into an occupied dwelling”.   A DeKalb County Investigations Unit and DeKalb County Drug Task Force conducted a search warrant of the residence, after one of the victims fled the scene.

During that search warrant, a sizeable amount of methamphetamine and a handgun was discovered.  Also during the search,  nine (9) shell casings were found with five of those shots hitting the residence.

The Investigation unit identified Jose Guadalupe Perez (34 of Crossville), as the shooter.  

Perez was booked in at the DeKalb County Detention Center and charged with Discharging a Firearm into a Building (5 counts), and also Menacing (2 counts).
