Babe Ruth’s No.3 Was Retired 76 Years Ago Today By The Yankees

The New York Yankees said farewell to George Herman “Babe” Ruth 76 years ago today and retired his number  in Yankee Stadium. Which, of course was The House That Ruth Built. Ruth will always be considered one of the greatest Major League Baseball players in the history of the game. Some say he saved baseball after the 1919 Black Sox Scandal. Ruth ,was also a member of the original Hall of Fame Class in Cooperstown with Tyrus Raymond Cobb and others. He died on August 16, 1948.
