ATTORNEY GENERAL MARSHALL ANNOUNCES CONVICTION OF ST. CLAIR COUNTY MAN ON MULTIPLE COUNTS OF POSSESSION OF CHILD PORNOGRAPHY AND TRANSMITTING OBSCENE MATTER TO A CHILD
Attorney General Steve Marshall announces the conviction – of a St. Clair County man on multiple counts of Possession of Child Pornography with Intent to Disseminate and Transmitting Obscene Matter. Terry DeWayne Herring, age 28 from Pell City has plead guilty in St. Clair County Circuit Court to five counts of Possession of Obscene Matter with Intent to Disseminate Images and Videos Depicting a Person Under the Age of 17 and one count of Transmitting Obscene Matter to a Child.
Herring was sentenced to serve 15 years in the Alabama Department of Corrections. Upon release, he’ll be required to register as a Sex Offender – and also abide by – ALL of the requirements of Alabama’s Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act.
Attorney General Marshall stated, “This was an unusually heinous crime. One that causes unimaginable hurt – and damage, to the victims, who are children.” and he then added “Protecting victims and especially children is the very top priority of the Attorney General’s Office – I’m glad justice
was served so that the victims and their families in this case can begin the process of healing.”
