An “Even-for-June” Stretch of Hot Temperatures Forecast for Alabama.

An “even-for-June” stretch of hot temperatures is in the forecast for Alabama.

Temperatures are expected to climb over the next few days and could be near 100 degrees in parts of the state by the weekend.  According to the National Weather Service forecasts, the hottest day may be coming up Saturday.

Highs today (Wednesday) will top out in the 80’s and the 90’s statewide; some of the “cooler” spots in north Alabama will be in the low 80’s.

Temperatures will go up a degree or two Thursday, with nearly all of the state ending up in the 90’s.  The rising temperature trend could continue Friday, with mid-90’s expected in many areas:  Then comes Saturday which could be the hottest of the week.  Most of the state is expected to have temperatures peak well into the 90’s – and a lot of spots in south Alabama, are expected to have highs near 100 degrees –  Sunday is expected to be hot, but not quite as hot as Saturday.

More 90’s are in the forecast for Sunday – BUT – it could be a few degrees “cooler” than Saturday.  And temperatures will be degree or two lower in Alabama on Monday – especially south Alabama – which could be picking up some rain from tropical activity in the Gulf of Mexico:

Above-average temperatures are expected in Alabama into mid-June.
