Accidental Drowning Reported on Friday Evening in North Georgia

A man drowned Friday in the Subligna area of Chattooga County.

According to Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader – Friday afternoon, at around 4:40 Emergency responders were dispatched to a residence on Narrows Road regarding a male who had flipped his boat in his pond.  Reportedly he went underwater after a few minutes – and he failed to re-surface; Sheriff’s Office personnel met with members of the Subligna Fire Department on the scene – and both a Subligna firefighter, and a Sheriff’s Office Investigator entered the water and located the victim.

The victim was identified as 74 year old Eric Scoggins.
