Tuesday night, I was treated by the Piedmont City Council to take a sneak peek at their renovations at the  Southern Railroad Museum in Piedmont located on Center Street.

Dr. Benjamin Ingram was our host and is the Museum Director.

The Museum plans to open around Halloween to the public. Their goal is to bring students from all over the neighboring areas.

This has been a team effort for the preservation of the Piedmont Historical Society as they strive to fulfill their Mission to “Collect, Preserve and Educate everyone about the history of Piedmont, Calhoun County and Alabama to all people.”

When this entire project is completed, it will be a shining gem in all of the United States, which should make all Alabamians proud. Curious minds, hopeful hearts and infinite possibilities are what the Southern Railroad Museum is about.
