Alabama Man Charged in January Crash That Claimed the Life of a Rome Woman
Charges have been filed in the fatal crash that occurred in January of this year in Floyd County, Georgia.
According to an arrest warrant, a Ram 5500 truck, driven by 21-year-old William David Frier Jr., of Centre (Alabama), ran a red light at Cedartown Highway and Walker Mountain Road, striking the GMC Yukon. A passenger in the Yukon, 59-year-old Denise Howell of a Rome address, was killed.
The driver of the Yukon, 37-year-old George W. Fowler of Rome, and two other passengers, 59-year-old Joe and 61-year-old Jim Howell, were both injured in the crash. Frier stands charged with misdemeanor counts of 2nd-Degree Homicide by Vehicle and Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device. He turned himself in at the Floyd County Jail on Monday, and he has been released on bond.
