Mr. Garry Allen Hopper, age 82, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2024.  He was born on August 27, 1941 in Centre, Alabama to J.T. and Ruby Hopper. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hogan Hopper. 

Garry is survived by his daughter, Nicole Hopper; son, Chad (Brooke) Hopper, and grandchildren, Lauren Dickson, Will Dickson, Cade Hopper and Anna Hopper.

Garry was a man of great joy.  He shared his humor, love of life and commitment to the Lord with everybody he met.  He was a faithful member and Deacon at Centre First Baptist Church, where he served in a nightly prayer group for over 25 years.  Garry was a loyal employee with TDS Telecom for over 40 years and a member of Sam Dixon Masonic Lodge.

The family would like to thank all employees of Cherokee County Health and Rehabilitation Center, Cherokee Village and Pro Health Hospice for their love and care. 

To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a service will be held at Perry Funeral Home on June 9, 2024 at 2:00 PM.  The family will receive friends from noon until 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the building fund at Centre First Baptist Church in his honor.
