Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton announced the completion of a large-scale warrant operation yesterday Wednesday, May 22, 2024, resulting in 85 arrests. The operation, named ‘Operation RACK EM UP’, targeted drug-related offenses across the county.
Sheriff Horton reported that the operation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the county’s Drug Enforcement Unit, local police from Gadsden and nearby areas, and U.S. Marshals. Officers executed 171 warrants, focusing on Gadsden and other parts of the county.
There were multiple warrants issued for drug trafficking, distribution, possession, and some SORNA violations and other felonies. The operation also led to the seizure of drugs and paraphernalia, potentially resulting in additional charges.
