On May 21, 2024, Central Alabama CrimeStoppers awarded Sergeant James Michael DeVoe Jr. with the title of Piedmont Police Department’s 2023 CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year.

Piedmont Police Chief Nathan Johnson wrote:

“It is my honor to nominate Sergeant James Michael DeVoe Jr. as our nominee for the CrimeStoppers Officer of the Year Award.

Sgt. DeVoe is the lead investigator and an all-around great and balanced officer that has worked in Law Enforcement for 7 years. Sgt. DeVoe is committed to his job and goes above and beyond to assist victims and solve cases. Sgt. DeVoe is a true leader within the Piedmont Police Department and has done a tremendous job for the citizens of the City of Piedmont.

Sgt. DeVoe has become a mentor for the younger generation of officers and works hard to guide them to be great officers.
