The National Weather Service says that the heaviest rain will be possible in several rounds starting in the morning on Friday.

Widespread amounts of 3 to 4 inches of rain will be possible through the day on Saturday – some areas could even get up to 6 inches.

Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Alabama from Friday into Saturday; and the Storm Prediction Center has added a Level 1 risk, for the isolated severe storms for parts of south and east Alabama for Saturday.

Light rainfall will be possible (but not certain), even into Sunday in some parts of Alabama as an area of low pressure swings across the state – and moisture wraps around it.

However, the first part of next week looks to be dry.  The next chance for rain may not arrive until Wednesday – however, there are hints that next weekend could also be a wet one.
