Georgia Man Arrested Following Shooting Incident

A 51-year-old Chattooga County, Georgia man was placed under arrest in connection with a shooting on Spring Creek Road Tuesday night.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader says that deputies responded at 7:32pm to 118 Spring Creek Road after reports that a man had been shot during a domestic dispute.  When deputies arrived, they found the victim lying in the driveway in front of the residence.

Investigators determined that the disagreement was between the father, and his son, and the father had shot the son twice with a .22 caliber rifle.   The son was then transported to an area hospital by Atrium Health Floyd EMS and he was listed in stable condition.  A search warrant was executed over the course of that investigation, and suspected methamphetamine and marijuana were each located inside.

Rodney Kinsey, age 51 – was arrested and he was charged with Reckless Conduct, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault Family Violence Act, Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a felony – also, Possession of both Meth and Marijuana.

He is currently being held in the Chattooga County Jail.
