Dorothy Jane Storey, age 84 of Gaylesville, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at her residence surrounded by family. Ms. Storey was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Gaylesville.
A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Monday, May 13, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Clay Moreland and Dr. Gene Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Mill Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM till the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include Trae Storey, Cody Hancock, Calen Cooper, Zack Moore, Nick Moore and Chris Storey. Honorary pallbearers will include Benny Rankin and David Rankin.
She is survived by her sons; Hank Storey (Marla), Tim Storey (Wanda) and Tommy Storey (Sharon); daughters, Tammy Knight, Lisa Hancock (Dan) and Lynn Bryant (Alan); 23 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; special friend, Horace Humphrey; bonus sons, David & Benny Rankin; several brothers/sisters-in-law also remain.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Emmett Storey, Sr.; brothers, G.W. Wilson, Daniel Wilson and Wilford Wilson; sister, Sybil Rankin.
Ms. Storey was a native of Ashville, AL, and the daughter of the late George Wakley and Grace Geneva Carter Wilson.
