Louisiana Man Charged With Rape, Sex Abuse And Sodomy

A  subject fled DeKalb County to avoid prosecution on rape, sex abuse and sodomy.  Bobby John Bergeron, Jr, 31 of St Martinsville, Louisiana was arrested by US Marshals on April 5 on the charges stemming from DeKalb County, Alabama according to Sheriff Nick Welden.

The DeKalb County Investigations  unit has been working on this case but did not indicate where or when the offenses occurred.

After being arrested in Louisiana, Bergeron was detained until being extradited to DeKalb County where he will be held without bond. A bond hearing is expected to be held later this week.

Bergeron is charged with Rape 1st degree, Rape 2nd degree, Sexual abuse 1st degree and sodomy 1st degree.

Sheriff Welden said in addition to the investigations unit, the US Marshall Service, Department of Human Resources, Children’s Advocacy Center of DeKalb County, and the Department of Children and Family  Services of Lafayette, Louisiana were involved in this case.
