Former Cherokee County multisport standout Tyren Dupree has accepted an invitation to the New York Jets minicamp.
The 6-foot-2, 222-pound linebacker graduated from Liberty University and was the 2023 Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year. Liberty finished the regular season undefeated (13-0) and ranked No. 23.
Dupree closed out his college career with a loss to No. 8 Oregon in the Fiesta Bowl where he led the defense with eight tackles.
The Jets finished 7-10 last season and did not make the playoffs. They are coached by Robert Saleh.
