In the Cherokee County Arrest Files for the previous 24 hours:

DEBRA WOOD, age 68 from Cedar Bluff, arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, and charged with Failure to Appear, on a previous charge of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance;

JAMES SHEPARD, age 85 of Gaylesville – arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office – was charged with Making a Terrorist Threat 1st Degree and three counts of Harassment;

DONNA MCCAY, 42 of Oxford – arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office and was charged with Failure to Appear on a charge of Assault 2nd Degree and Failure to Appear on charges of Theft of Property 1st Degree – and two charges of Failure to Appear on charges of Forgery 3rd Degree;

STAR MALOOF, age 44 of Piedmont, was arrested by Centre Police on the charge of Bail Jumping 2nd Degree;

And

ROBERT SMITH, age 61 of Gadsden was arrested by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office for the Possession of a Forged Instrument 3rd Degree.

Arrests are based upon probable cause – and all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.  Currently, there are a total of 93 inmates housed in the Cherokee County Detention Center.
