The newly formed, local Cherokee Braves camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet on the first Saturday of each month, beginning May 4th, from 1pm to 2:30pm at the Centre City Park gazebo.
Anyone interested in joining or learning more about the SCV, the Civil War, or the three national SCV Conventions is welcome to attend.
Membership in the SCV is open to all male descendants of any veteran, who served in the Confederate armed forces.
Local SCV offices that still need to be filled include: Adjutant, Chaplin, Master at Arms, Band Director, Communication Officer, and Debutante Ball Coordinator (female).
