The Cherokee County Commission Adopts Resolution Supporting Senate Bill 254 To Regulate ATV Parks.

State Senator Andrew Jones visited with the Commission during their Planning Session Monday afternoon asking them to adopt a resolution in support of the Local Bill meaning it is for Cherokee County only.

Jones explained what the bill does:

Senator Jones told the Commission he’d been working on this legislation since 2021 with meetings with several state agencies, the Commission, and resident groups from the Community around the Indian Mountain ATV Park.

Apparently, the Commissioners had questions or reservations about the proposed legislation. They met among themselves and also with Senator Jones, in the Planning room.  The regular meeting of the Commission was to start at 5:00 but was postponed until 6:00.
