Handley hands Piedmont 6-3 softball loss

ROANOKE – Cadence Buttram and Jaycee Glover both had a pair of hits at the plate, but they weren’t enough to lead the Piedmont Lady Bulldogs past Handley in softball action on Monday. Piedmont fell by the final of 6-3.

Buttram drove in a run and scored another. One of Glover’s hits was a double.

Carson Young went 1-for-3 with a run and a RBI. Cayla Brothers was 1-for-4,

Savannah Smith suffered the loss after working three innings. She gave up six earned runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Young worked three innings and gave up four hits and a walk with a strikeout.

Piedmont travels to Sand Rock on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
