Sand Rock picks up a pair of softball wins in Albertville tournament

ALBERTVILLE – In the Albertville softball tournament on Saturday, Sand Rock defeated Ider 6-1 and Albertville 13-1.

In the win over Ider, Kaitlyn St.Clair went 3-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs. Molly Lay was 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs. Peyton Johnson added a double and a run. Aliyah King contributed a hit and a pair of runs. Emma Thompson contributed a hit and two RBIs. Bailey Kilgore finished with a hit and a RBI. Emma Sipsy walked twice and scored a run.

Alyvia McMichen earned the win in the circle. She pitched 4 1/3 innings and gave up an earned run on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Macy Martin tossed a 1 1/3 innings and allowed two hits and two walks.

In the win over Albertville, St.Clair went a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple, a double, three runs and a RBI. Sipsy was 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple, three runs and four RBIs. King doubled, walked, scored a run and drove in another. Kailee Patterson doubled and drove in two runs. Maddie Clanton also doubled and drove in two runs.

Camp contributed a hit, two runs and two RBIs.  Lay and Johnson both had a hit and scored a run. Kilgore and Thompson both finished with a hit.

Sipsy earned the win after working four innings. She gave up a run on four hits with a walk. McMichen and Martin both tossed an inning with a pair of strikeouts and a strikeout respectively.

Sand Rock travels to Hokes Bluff on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
